Jump into the deep end of an extraordinary life!

Cliff Diver

Albert Einstein wrote: “The most beautiful experience we can have is the mysterious. It is the fundamental emotion that stands at the cradle of true art…”

At first glance, the mystery of this bronze sculpture caught my attention. At a distance, I thought it might be a ram’s horn but I wasn’t certain. There was something else to it. The unknown of the piece drew me to investigate further. I realized as I approached that it was a human figure. The name at the bottom read: Umbral by artist Olivia Guzman. I was enchanted by the mystery of this sculpture.

The English word for umbral is threshold or cliff diver.

It’s Monday morning. Where do you stand – on the threshold of the mystery of an extraordinary and bright life or in the safety of the mundane?

There is so much that God has planned for your life. Jump IN! Be a cliff diver and dive into the deep end of your extraordinary and beautiful life today.

I’m pulling my safety-gripping fingers away from their hold on self-preservation–one finger at a time! Your words resonate in my academic brain; to my emotional brain they seem counter-intuitive right now. I wish I wasn’t so afraid of heights!!!

I love the sculpture! The holes in the body suggest this isn’t the Cliff Diver’s first go at it! He keeps coming back!! I’ll keep coming back too!

Thanks for your contagious encouragement, Angela!

Dearest Sherrie, God has given you such a gift with the written word. Every time you comment you add to my writing. It makes my heart sing! I love this line: “The holes in the body suggest this isn’t the Cliff Diver’s first go at it! He keeps coming back!! I’ll keep coming back too!” Isn’t that SO TRUE! Thank you for reading and commenting!

Angela has inspired me in many ways. I have witnessed some of her community involvements, learned much from her new book as well as conferences I’ve attended and from conversations we’ve had. I am thankful most recently that she gave me a “push” to dive into blogging or rather continue. I love the idea of asking the question, “Do you want to live an extraordinary and bright life or stick to the mundane?” Some are afraid to do something their heart feels called to do. Maybe it is fear about doing it wrong, or afraid of judgement or perhaps staying in the mundane serves them for now while they anticipate the next growth spurt of energy to step out or rather needs some encouragement or someone to talk with about it. Getting connected with Angela’s posts has been something I have found to help me grow personally. There are many people that do help me in my walk and she is one of them. Thank you Angela.
