I am struggling.
…struggling with the fact that so many teens are
experiencing depression, anxiety, self-harm and suicidal thoughts.
I am struggling with the fact that this very teen I describe may be living in your home or mine, and you and I could be completely unaware of it.
Recently, I was asked, “What is your brand?”
Typically, brands are made up of logos, color, font and tone/messaging.
Think… Starbucks, Apple, or Microsoft.
My brand? Humans.
There is no one color, font or tone or story.
There is a lot of questions about how the digital world is reforming our connections.
Working in the digital realm, I have questions too.

Worth. My entire existence has centered on finding self-worth.
In high school, I got
tired of being called, the Fat – Bible Thumper. (Now, that is a name everyone wants to claim, right!) So I quit
church.
I hadn’t found worth there anyways.
WAIT! What’s a phubber?
Phubbing is a term created by the combination of
the words phone and snubbing. It refers to a person interacting with their
phone (or other device) rather than interacting with a human being. 1
I will admit it; I am a
recovering phubber.

Have you ever wondered why one post gets more “likes” than another?
Maybe you are posting
excellent content but your posts do not get near the traffic as similar posts
on other pages.
Maybe you have been told
it is algorithms or branding or content that gets followers.
In 2017, I started the first digital-only church in the Assemblies of God Fellowship – Pursuit Church Live. I never could have imagined then, the incredible gift of technology to reach the world for Jesus. Facebook became the front door to faith and community for over 17,000 people in the time I pastored Pursuit Church Live on Facebook.
How does your personality makeup impact your approach to this holiday season?
That was the question my friend, Kim Martinez asked me in a recent email.
I spent some time thinking about this question today on a morning hike. My answer: I am an introvert who finds this time of year invigorating.
