The short, inspirational Christmas story below was originally published in the December 14, 1982 issue of Woman’s Day magazine. This moving story inspired the creation of The White Envelope Project, a caring nonprofit organization dedicated to developing the next generation of givers.

People fall into one of two categories when they go on vacation – some believe vacation is for activity, adventure, and exercise. Others leave their tennis shoes behind, opting for a nap in a lounge chair in the sun and a good book.
Personally, I like both but one thing I always do on vacation is a lot more exercising then I do at home.
