First Thessalonians 5:18b says, “Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” Lately there has been a trend to thank God for the small things in life. I am onboard. Thanking God for the small things minimized a grumbling and discontent spirit.
This picture of my bathroom remodel seems representative of my walk with Jesus. The remodeling process seems endless. Like the new floor (which used to be brown shag carpet), the foundation of my life has changed. The Bible says when you know Jesus,
“It’s so sad.” Said the stranger standing next to me in Washington Square. Leaning into me in a whisper she continued her thought, “Such a waste of talent.”
The talent she referred to was a man entertaining a growing crowd of fifty or more people as he playing a grand piano in this historical park of New York City.
This morning, as I prayed for two friends who experienced the sudden loss of ones they love and for another who is in a battle for her life against cancer, I was reminder of how quickly life can change and how precious each moment is.
I am inspired as I watch each of these women overcome loss with thanksgiving.
